Okay, I realised how much extra trouble I cased myself by making this place a private journal instead of a community *eep* So I have dragged my finger out and built a community version. There is a new fic there (link below) I'm going to send out invites and suchlike and crosspost the next few fics here too so everyone gets transferred over, sorry for the messing about :(

Still feeling a little fuzzy because I've been raked out of bed early (and I SLEPT WooHoo!) to post this before I go to work. There be winnings :D And I haz a message from Lana:

I want to thank everyone who nominated and voted for me, you're all stars. And obviously the peeps who ran the awards and the peeps who made the pretty, pretty banners - Mac is going to print these out for my notice board, he does not know this yet.

I've spent the past two weeks thinking that as long as I place in Gabriel/Sylar I'll be happy, so I'm more than a little overwhelmed at winning four categories and coming second in two others (Smut Stew was runner up for Best Overall Fic and It's In The Blood was runner up for Best AU). Especially at coming second in Best Overall.

Eight months ago I had heard of fanfiction, but didn't really know what slash was, and I honestly didn't really think I could write. So in a nutshell, I love you all, you've done miracles for my confidence, my writing skills and even my enjoyment of putting pen to paper (I know it shouldn't mean more to me because somebody else likes it too, 'write because you want to not because someone else wants you to - yaddah yaddah', but I'm human, so it does). Anyway, I'm going to end the Halle Berry moment before I embarrass myself in front of everyone, and violently snuggle-attack a certain somebody for posting Smut Stew on t'internet when I wasn't looking. And then I'm going to make him build a trophy cabinet, I may or may not allow him to go to work first.

In short - You all = ♥

And congratulations to everyone else who won, was a runner up or a nominee. :)

Gabriel strokes his fingers up Sylar's thigh, hoping for attention. A threatening growl from the killer stops him in his tracks.

"Want you," he whispers softly, pressing his nose into the softness of Sylar's belly.

"I'm reading," Sylar murmurs.

"You've read that before," Gabriel growls back, unhappy at not getting his own way.

"And?"

"So you can remember every word already. Come on, tell me what page you're on, I'll tell you what it says."

"That's not the point," Sylar holds the book away and regards the watchmaker carefully. Gabriel is practically climbing into his lap, gazing up at him adoringly. Sylar has to admit, he does look…appetising, but Peter is due back soon, and he might have company with him. It's unlikely, but there's still a chance. The nurse is determined to try and establish peace between his lovers and his niece, which is why he extracted a promise to be on their best behaviour from them both before he left.

"What is the point then?" Gabriel slumps to the floor between the killer's legs, resting his chin on Sylar's knee and leaning his shoulder against the chair. Sylar goes back to his book without answering. After a few moments, he slides his hand into Gabriel's hair and strokes, absentmindedly.

"I AM NOT A DOG!"

Sylar yelps with surprise as Gabriel launches himself at him, when the watchmaker loses his temper he doesn't hold back. There's a moment of dizzying disorientation, then the armchair falls backwards with a whooomph and a crash, the killer's teeth rattling with the impact. He tries desperately to recover, but it's hard to breathe with Gabriel practically sitting on his chest.

You need to lose some weight, tubby, Sylar thinks.

Fuck you, Gabriel returns, he kisses the killer, hard, refusing to let him breathe. Sylar fights for a few seconds, then surrenders, grabbing Gabriel by the hair and responding hungrily to the kiss. After all, disappointing the watchmaker is a dangerous business, not one to be undertaken lightly, he's living proof of that. Gabriel softens in his arms, relaxing as he realises he's not going to be denied.

Bedroom?

Bedroom.

"Oh my god that's disgusting!" a girl's voice gasps from the direction of the front door. Gabriel and Sylar both stop, looking up. Claire is standing in the doorway, her facial expression a mixture of horror and fascination. Peter stands behind her, staring at them despairingly.

"So much for making a good seventeenth impression," he mutters hopelessly, "I can't leave you two alone for thirty minutes, can I?"

It's been thirty-two minutes and fifteen seconds, actually…

He started it…

"I DID NOT!"

"YES YOU DID! YOU JUST LEAPT ON ME!"

"YOU WERE IGNORING ME!"

"YOU WERE TRYING FOR SEX, YOU KNEW I DIDN'T WANT A SCENE LIKE THIS!"

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE TRYING TO BLAME ME!"

"IT'S YOUR FAULT!"

"BITCH!"

"SLUT!"

"Are they always like this?" Claire whispers, stepping back against Peter.

"No," Peter replies, sighing heavily. He wonders if she means the sex, or the arguing, or both, then decides it doesn't really matter. "Sometimes they sleep."
